Cars have been an important part of my (earlier) life, and I was first inspired by "Maigret" Citroen cars of my boyhood, and later the DS19. The design and engineering was ahead of its time and started me on the road to life...
I passed the Driving Test at the second attempt in 1965, and obtained my first car in 1966. For many years I had a consuming passion for cars and driving. Half of my working life was involved with transport in one way or another. My dream car is always a Bentley.

The latest car is at the top of the list, and more or less in order of ownership:

Nissan Micra

Donated by a friend, but with strings - he called it Blackberry. I sold it because of that and also I needed the money to pay my dentist. Very under powered, but useful as a one person vehicle. Furthest I went was Devon with Sue for a week.
Toyota
Corolla

Given to me by a woman in Worthing, and now I know why! Spent a lot of money to keep it going, and many hours polishing it, but in the end it failed the MOT because of a rusty chassis, and had to go.
Chrysler
Neon

Fabulous model, except when it looked like a Mondeo. Almost perfect, but expensive for repairs. Superb 2 litre with many extras including air con.
Citroen
C15

My favourite van - ever. Comfortable, nippy, safe. Really sorry to let this go.
Transit
Luton

My "van period".
Used this for deliveries from the shop. Very butch!
Vauxhall
Combo

Never liked this much. Hated the gearing and steering.
Ford
Fiesta

Had it for years, and drove everywhere, but a boring car.
Fiat
Panda
4x4

Good fun, but too delicate - and I never used the 4 wheel drive option.
Ford
Escort

Nothing much to say about this workhorse - used for driving instruction, mainly.
Daf 33
Van

Great fun, and so many happy memories - even slept in the back. Under powered and hopeless for overtaking, but still loved it.
Triumph
TR6

Wow - fantastic... I can still hear (and feel) the exhaust. The greatest experience, and probably the greatest car I have ever owned.
Austin
1800

Can't think why I bought this, except parental influence (and finance). Yes, comfortable, automatic but just boring.
Austin
1100

First new car, so sort of exciting - but only for a time. I knew there had to be better...
This was followed by the Austin 1300, and 1300 GT.  At the time there seemed to be little choice.

Hillman
Minx
convertible

Like the first kiss, one always remembers their first car with affection, and this was no exception. There was a lot wrong with it, but I was so proud... The first car is always a steep learning curve, and I quickly learnt to do simple DIY tasks.
